News of Prison Meditation in Poland

3 - 5 June 2011, Christian Meditation in a Polish prison "Time. Space. Meditation" led by Fr. Jacek Poznański, S.J. with participation of spiritual directors in the prison service, prisoners and meditators from the WCCM.PL offered a unique opportunity to experience a moment of silence and prayer in a prison environment. During a four day retreat there was time for conferences, meditation practice, reading and reflecting on gospel stories and individual talks with Fr. Jacek.

This year's retreat, already a second in the officially approved program "Meditation: A chance for an internal freedom," was organized by Urszula Wojciechowska-Budzikur, a meditator in the John Main tradition, an experienced clinical psychologist and a prison director in Wąsosz Górny, South of Poland. All the participants emphasized the formative value of the meditation practice and looked forward to the follow-up session in 2012.
